Technique Page- Animation

An animation can be created from a single image or multiple images. It can display as sequence of movement or a change within an image e.g. change in colour.

1. If showing a moving or changing object or person ensure the camera does not move to much during shots.
2. Upload to photoshop and adjust levels, curves and any other adjustments as desired.
3. Flatten all images you wish to use.
4. Place all the images you wish to use on one photo, each photo having a new layer.
5. Click on 'Window' then 'Timeline'
6. The option to the left should appear at the bottom of the screen, click create frame animation.

7. You can then add more parts to the animation. This would be the other images or a variety of one image by pressing the button shown below.




8. Once you have added all the parts of the animation you wish you can play it and see how you like it and make any adjustments.

If you would like for your animation to blend more effectively you can use the tween tool as shown below.


9. Click the button as shown in the image below (in the lower right hand corner) and select 'Tween'
10. The below option will appear and you can chose how any layers which you want which will filter into the next image and blend the two images.
11. If you click on the last frame and want to blend with the first frame you have to chose first Frame where it says 'tween with'.
12. Once you are happy with the animation adjust the size to 20 and resolution to 72. Then save as 'save for web' ensuring it is saved as a gif.
