Photographic Realities
Photographic realities describes the way in which a sense or idea can be adapted or altered by a lens or photo editing software. Displaying a unique view on an idea or concept.
This is my own definition of photographic realities due to the little amount of information available on this certain topic.
Due to the combined amount of ideas within photographic realities, a few other definitions of particular parts which would be involved within this project are below.
Surrealism- "A 20th-century avant-garde movement in art and literature which sought to release the creative potential of the unconscious mind, for example by the irrational juxtaposition of images."
Close up- "A close-up or closeup in filmmaking, television production, still photography and the comic strip medium is a type of shot, which tightly frames a person or an object. Close-ups are one of the standard shots used regularly with medium shots and long shots (cinematic techniques)."
photomontage- "A montage constructed from photographic images.
the technique of constructing a photomontage."

Some examples
The image above is an example of a photomontage in the form of a photo joiner. This is created in a photo editing software. This interesting technique is a different way to highlight certain areas of an image and not include any parts of a image which you do not wish to be seen. For example in this piece a majority of the grass has not been added, Creating a greater focus on the house and the path. Green is often linked with being peaceful and happy, therefore the vast amount of green used within the image portrays a happy atmosphere around the house. Suggesting it is a nice place to be. This photo joiner has also allowed there to be a small border of nature around the house without losing focus on the key aspect on the image.
The image to the left represents surrealism and how important society values can be shown within an image, in a unique and creative way. This particular image is particularly interesting due to the meaning behind the piece. This image relates to the expectations of society on women and how this Barbie image is being publicised and seen as what women should aspire for. The blending of the Barbie and the women show how society is encouraging women to mold into a beauty norm from a young age. Representing the loss of individuality of girls and women within today's society. The tones from the dark background and composition used within the photograph help to create a negative atmosphere for the image.
To the right is a Triptych, Triptych's can be used in different ways to create interesting pieces and show a sequence of events or a series of images from a particular collection. This particular section of images are intriguing due to how they are selectively only showing part of an image. It appears that a persons outline has been filled with a image of a particular environment. This is a interesting way to show a certain place or scenery. This technique could be used to display someones inner though which they do not let out. Showing how they are limited within the outline of the person
Although this particular photo does not have any obvious use of photo editing I have chosen to include this piece to show how a camera can take a image of a scene in which we may not see in real life. In reality the water may be moving to fast for us to see with the naked eye and see this scene in such detail and appreciate this event. Depth of field have also been experimented within this close up, these two techniques joined together show how by mixing techniques it allows us to create interesting imagse which could be labeled under photographic realities. This shows the camera base side of the topic and how knowledge and a good use of a camera can help create intriguing pieces which highlight a unique view or perspective. In this case the perspective is a simple scene portraying innocents, from the cats position and expression, and natural beauty shown from the colours and patterns of the cat and the water.
